The Village Leagues Championship is open to the first 96 people who registered (as of Aug 5th - 9:53 pm IST)
This contest kicks off in GW3 and we will have our winners identified in GW27

FORMAT

GROUP STAGE

• ROUND 1 = GW 3 to GW 13
  8 Groups with 12 teams each
  Top 8 teams in each group qualify for Round 2

• ROUND 2 = GW 14 to GW 20
  8 Groups with 8 teams each
  Top 4 teams in each group qualify for Round 3

• ROUND 3 = GW 21 to GW 23
  8 Groups with 4 teams each
  Top 2 teams in each group qualify for the Knockout phase

At the end of each Round in the Group stage, the team in 1st position will remain in the same group, while the others will move to subsequent groups to ensure that players face a different opponent as the tournament progresses. 

KNOCKOUT STAGE

• ROUND 4 = GW 24
  16 teams face other in a knockout format, progressing to the Quarterfinals

• ROUND 5 = GW 25
  8 teams face other in a knockout format, progressing to the SemiFinals

• ROUND 6 = GW 26
  4 teams face other in a knockout format, progressing to the Finals

• ROUND 7 = GW 27
  The Grand Finale!

POINTS

• A win gets you 3 points, a draw gets you 1 point.

• Hits don't count towards your GW score but if there's a tiebreaker to determine who qualifies to the next stage, the hits will affect your ranking!

TIE-BREAKER

If Managers are tied on points for qualification to the next round, then the following criteria will be used to determine the ranking - 

• Hits taken - the team with less hits will be ranked higher

• FPL points - the team with more FPL points will be ranked higher

• FPL ID (yep, there's a use for this after all!) - the team with the smaller/earlier  FPL ID will be ranked higher
